Vok Bikes launches London cargo bike rental service to help businesses replace vans

Electric cargo bike manufacturer Vok Bikes has launched Vok Ride, a new cargo bike rental service designed to help London businesses rapidly adopt commercial grade four wheel cargo bikes with minimal risk.

Now live across the UK capital, Vok Ride enables companies to integrate cargo bikes into their daily operations without upfront investment or operational uncertainty that has held many businesses back. The service is aimed at companies operating in dense urban environments, including parcel delivery, food and trade services, and facilities management.

‘Vok Ride is about providing an easy switch from vans to cargo bikes,’ said Chris Cayford, operations manager of Vok Bikes London. ‘Business owners and fleet managers tell me all the time that moving away from vans can feel like a big leap. Vok Ride is a game changer because it makes that shift feel simple and low risk – one that’s faster, cleaner, and better suited to modern cities.’

London remains the most congested city in Europe, with drivers losing 101 hours to traffic in 2024 and congestion costing an estimated £3.85 billion in lost productivity. Vans are the biggest source of nitrogen oxides pollution on the road in central London. According to Transport for London, cargo bikes could replace up to 17% of van kilometres in central London by 2030, reducing congestion, emissions, and pressure on road space.

Despite growing recognition of the benefits of cargo bikes, adoption has been uneven. Vok Ride eliminates the main barriers — upfront capital costs, operational uncertainty, and reliability concerns. Its fully supported rental model delivers flexibility and predictable monthly costs, often less than half the cost of operating a van in London as congestion charges increase, underpinned by the proven reliability of its commercial grade cargo bikes.

Companies can book cargo bikes for rental periods starting from six months. Instead of committing capital upfront, companies can measure performance, cost, and reliability in real world operations before making longer term decisions about fleet transition. Furthermore, not all small businesses need their own cargo bike. From booking a test ride and onboarding to receiving a fully branded, delivery ready bike, businesses can be operational within two weeks.

Vok Ride bikes offer a range of up to 60 miles, powered by two removable batteries that can be charged indoors, making them ideal for city based operations without dedicated charging infrastructure. By utilising bike lanes and enabling door to door access, the bikes deliver clear operational efficiency in dense urban environments.
