Leading e-commerce, mail and pallet specialist The Delivery Group has further expanded its operational footprint with the opening of a new 52,500 square foot processing hub in Bristol.

The Bristol premises – an £8 million investment – is now in operation and will enable The Delivery Group to support the rapidly growing delivery demand from clients in anticipation of peak volumes of 1 billion items.

The Bristol hub comes hot on the heels of The Delivery Group’s opening of its new Maidstone site in March and the company’s successful acquisition of ONEPOST.  Bristol adds a further 30% capacity to the company’s network. The site will process and sort mail using the very latest letter and packet sortation machines, ready for delivery into Royal Mail processing points across the South, South West and Midlands.

Steve Stokes, CEO, The Delivery Group comments: “Our aim is to deliver exceptional value and service to clients throughout the UK, and Bristol represents the best strategic fit for our network. The Bristol hub complements our existing sites in Warrington, Luton, Kent, Derby and Central London, giving us a very strong geographic footprint across the country and enabling us to expertly handle over 1 billion items.

“The eCommerce marketplace continues to grow at a rapid rate and there is a real demand for expert logistical support to ensure goods arrive at the desired time in the best possible condition. Our continued growth is testament to the fact that our people know the market inside out, which enables us to offer cost-effective solutions tailored to today’s delivery challenges.”

The Delivery Group’s new hub also represents great news for the local economy, with the site expected to generate between 60-70 new jobs split across mail processing and HGC driving.
