The recently launched all-new Peugeot Expert has been awarded the ‘Light Commercial Vehicle of the Year’* accolade and ‘Medium Van of the Year’* at the 2017 What Van? Awards.
The panel of judges at What Van?, made up with individuals from a wide spectrum of experience and expertise in this market, were convinced that the all-new Expert van was “an outstanding new van having launched to the market this year”, adding that the new Peugeot Expert “breaks new ground in the largest and most important sector of the van market.”
James Dallas, Editor of What Van? commented; “The Peugeot Expert represents a big step up compared with its predecessor in terms of quality, refinement and practicality. It should propel the brand to the forefront of what is a very competitive market sector. The new Expert van brings useful innovations to the market and it now stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the best medium vans on offer.
The Compact version of the new Expert breaks new ground in the sector and gives its manufacturer a significant advantage over the competition – particularly with urban operators.”
The all-new Peugeot Expert van brings to the van sector all the practicality required for business but with the comfort and efficiency of the latest passenger cars and SUVs, made possible by using the Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2). The adaptable and configurable platform permits the Expert van to be offered in three lengths, the smallest being new to the market sector. Its practicality is best demonstrated by an optional hands-free function of its sliding side doors and other loading features like the Moduwork, which allows long items to extend safely into the lower bulkhead.
Nick Crossley, Head of Commercial Actions in UK Marketing at Peugeot, said; “The all-new Peugeot Expert van fully deserves this accolade and we are very happy to receive this award from What Van? magazine. I know British-designer Keith Ryder and his development team will be delighted with this award, for it recognises their expertise in this class-leading design. Our customers will also appreciate this news, as it vindicates their decision to choose the Expert van that is equipped with an extremely-competitive specification and compelling features – making it a fully-deserved ‘award-winning’ van.”
The all-new Peugeot Expert offers customers a compelling and competitive product range with exceptional capabilities and efficiencies, an attractive character with the latest Brand identity and a robust and modern design.
Built on a brand-new vehicle platform, it benefits from all the advantages of the Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2): exhibiting compactness, weight reduction, versatility and combines the most efficient engine options – achieving as little as 133g/km of CO2, as well as highest build quality. It introduces innovative features to the segment such as hands-free sliding side doors, the modularity of the cab with ‘Moduwork’, Active Safety Brake system, rear-view camera with VisioPark and connected 3D navigation.
The all-new Peugeot Expert can carry a maximum load of 1400kg and is available in three body lengths, from the new ‘Compact’ version at just 4.60m up to 5.30m. It is a vehicle also particularly well suited to urban journeys, with a maximum height of just 1.90m.
The new Peugeot Expert is a generation ahead – in every way.
* The award is a joint accolade, sharing it with its twin – the Citroën Dispatch.
