NetDespatch has donated £6,732 to Cancer Research UK following their annual vote by employees.
Cancer Research UK was selected as one of the supported charities by NetDespatch staff, with the donation part of the company’s ongoing commitment to donate a fixed percentage of its turnover to charitable causes.
The charity is the world’s leading charity dedicated to curing cancer through research. The charity has saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, and survival has doubled over the past 40 years. Every day in the UK there are more than 400 people diagnosed with cancer who will survive the disease for more than 10 years – thanks to research.
NetDespatch, headquartered in Marlow, enables over 130,000 businesses to streamline their parcel shipping processes through seamless integration with parcel carriers such as Royal Mail, APC Overnight, Yodel and UK Mail.
“The generous donation from NetDespatch will help to give our cancer research efforts a big boost. Every pound donated is invaluable to Cancer Research UK. We fund research into more than 200 types of cancer, from the most common – such as breast, bowel, lung and prostate cancers – to rare types of tumours and children’s cancers,” says Katie Beck of Cancer Research UK.
“Many of us have been touched by cancer in some way, whether through friends or family. NetDespatch has itself been at the forefront of research and development in its own area of technology, so the idea of supporting a charity that funds research into cancer treatment struck a chord with everyone here,” says Elliot Evans, Marketing Manager at NetDespatch.
