Transense secures Continental contract for next generation smart tyre tool
Transense Technologies, through its Translogik division, has secured a development and supply contract with Continental, one of the world’s leading tyre manufacturers, for a next generation digital tyre management tool.
Under the agreement, Translogik will develop a bespoke version of its handheld TLGX device, incorporating specific enhanced functionality to meet Continental’s operational requirements.
The project expands a long standing relationship between the two companies as the commercial vehicle industry responds to increasing regulatory and operational demands, including the adoption of TPMS technologies, digital tyre inspections and forthcoming EU Digital Product Passport requirements that will increase the need for tyre traceability and lifecycle data management.
Continental plans to deploy the new tool across its global service network, providing technicians with a single integrated solution where multiple devices have traditionally been required.
Subject to completion, the six month funded programme is expected to generate more than £700,000 a year for Transense while strengthening Translogik’s position in digital tyre management, traceability and connected maintenance.
Ryan Maughan, managing director at Transense Technologies plc, commented: ‘We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with Continental through this development programme.
‘Our TLGX platform has established a strong reputation for supporting digital tyre management, and this project reflects the increasing demand for integrated solutions as tyre management becomes more connected and data driven. We believe this programme represents an important commercial opportunity for Translogik and provides a strong platform for future growth.’
Pascal Neumann, product manager, digital solutions at Continental, commented: ‘Digitalisation is transforming tyre management and creating opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality and service delivery. We look forward to working with the Translogik team to develop a solution tailored to the evolving requirements of our global service network.’
