AmWorld makes strategic acquisition of Crossflight Group

Foresight Group, a leading regional private equity and real assets manager, has announced a significant follow on investment in AmWorld, to facilitate the acquisition of Crossflight Group.

AmWorld is an outsourced ‘white glove’ courier solutions provider differentiated by its bespoke services, rapid response times and high service quality. It has strengthened its position in the market with the acquisition of Crossflight, a highly respected provider of specialist logistics and fulfilment services. Both businesses are headquartered in Colnbrook, while Crossflight expands the group’s geographical footprint through sites in Birmingham and Swindon, as well as mainland Europe.

Foresight initially backed AmWorld in a management buyout in July 2023 with the aim of supporting a combined organic and inorganic growth strategy. The acquisition of Crossflight represents the first acquisition Amworld has made since Foresight’s original investment and will deliver a step change in scale, customer offering and geographic reach. The acquisition is based on strong cultural and operational alignment, with both businesses sharing a reputation for dependable execution, clear accountability and a commitment to long term customer partnerships.

David Miles, director, private equity at Foresight, said: ‘The acquisition of Crossflight represents a step change in AmWorld’s scale and service offering.

‘We are delighted to have supported the AmWorld team to bring together two complementary businesses with a shared culture and customer centric approach.’

AmWorld chief executive Ian Bolton said of the acquisition: ‘This was about strengthening what we already do well, not changing it. Crossflight brings real depth in fulfilment and mailing, and just as importantly, a service culture that mirrors our own.’

‘What stood out to me most throughout this process is the people,’ said Suzanne Darlington, joint managing director at Crossflight. ‘The AmWorld team works exactly as we do, professionally, and with complete accountability to clients. When two teams genuinely share the same standards, integration becomes straightforward, and that is exactly what we have experienced.’
