Courier Logistics strengthens fleet compliance and driver checks with AssetGo

Courier Logistics is strengthening compliance and improving operational efficiency across its growing fleet by expanding its use of AssetGo’s fleet management platform.

Since adopting AssetGo in 2024, the business has expanded its use of the system from managing its HGV fleet to covering vans and on-site machinery. The platform underpins daily walkaround checks, defect reporting, scheduled tyre inspections, compliance tracking, incident and accident reporting, and wider health and safety processes.

Over the same period, the fleet has grown from around 60 vehicles and trailers to more than 100 and during this time AssetGo has supported the expansion by replacing manual maintenance planning processes that relied on paper records and Excel spreadsheets.

For example, maintenance schedules are now centralised, easier to track and more reliable, with all departments operating within a single system.

‘AssetGo has played a key role in supporting our growth and giving us a system that adapts to our changing needs,’ explained Jana Rizenkova, operational excellence and compliance lead at Courier Logistics. ‘Before, maintenance planning was highly manual and time consuming, and it was difficult to manage such a wide variety of fleet assets. Now everything is centralised, far more reliable and much easier to track.’

Jana goes on to explain that the system has transformed incident reporting, allowing drivers to submit reports in real time with photos and structured information, rather than completing paperwork on return to depot. Incidents are recorded against individual driver profiles, improving visibility of trends, accountability and targeted driver management.

Driver daily checks and compliance processes have also been significantly enhanced. Digital submissions are reviewed centrally, enabling defects to be categorised and actioned immediately.

Meanwhile, customisable walkaround checks are tailored to different vehicle types and departments, alongside mandatory photo uploads, defect descriptions and specific prompts for load security and vehicle cleanliness. Weekly tyre inspections further support safety, while integrated licence checks provide a clear way to ensure all drivers and company car users remain compliant at all times.

‘The level of detail we now receive from daily checks is a huge improvement,’ added Jana. ‘Drivers are more consistent and thorough, and that allows our maintenance team to diagnose and resolve issues much faster.’

Prior to AssetGo, Courier Logistics relied on manual processes and also trialled another digital provider, but faced limitations including inflexible pre-set questions, limited ability to capture detailed defect information and a lack of photo visibility.

Now, AssetGo’s flexible and customisable system has reduced paperwork and administrative time, improved data accuracy and visibility, and enabled faster responses to defects and incidents.

‘From a workshop perspective, the platform has introduced greater structure and oversight, including clearer defect management, improved tyre tracking, better coordination of maintenance bookings, accessible digital records and enhanced cost monitoring for repairs, defects and vehicle accidents,’ added Jana, ‘This has enabled a more proactive approach to fleet maintenance, reducing downtime and helping keep vehicles in optimal condition.’

Referring to the onboarding process, Jana noted that it was straightforward and well supported, with a free trial allowing the business to fully understand how the system would integrate before committing. Ongoing support has remained responsive, transparent and open to feedback, helping Courier Logistics refine its processes as the business evolves.

‘From the start, the onboarding was smooth and well supported, and that has continued with the ongoing service,’ said Jana. ‘Health and safety and compliance are critical for us as a transport business, and AssetGo plays a key role in supporting that. It helps us operate to maintain a higher standard, improves efficiency across the board, and ultimately supports the level of service we provide to our customers.’
