ESB Energy Unveils New Six-Bay Ultra Rapid EV Charging Hub in Birmingham
ESB Energy has announced the launch of a new six-bay ultra rapid EV charging hub in Springhill, Birmingham, further strengthening its commitment to expanding electric vehicle infrastructure across the region.
Conveniently located near Birmingham city centre, the new hub offers high speed charging, designed to meet growing demand, while enhancing the EV driving experience by significantly reducing charging times and improving accessibility.
The hub is equipped with three 200kW high power chargers, each capable of delivering up to 135 miles of range in as little as ten minutes. To enhance ease of use, the chargers support contactless payment, allowing drivers to pay seamlessly without the need for apps or subscriptions. This streamlined approach ensures a smooth and accessible experience for both frequent users and those charging for the first time.
All chargers at the site are powered by 100% renewable electricity, supporting Birmingham’s wider sustainability goals and contributing to the city’s ambition to reach Net Zero carbon emissions.
Speaking on the opening, Francis O’Donnell, ESB Energy Manager, ESB said: “At ESB Energy, we are dedicated to driving the adoption of electric vehicles by providing charging solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
