WNV Systems’ ANPR add-on for commercial vehicle washes

WNV Systems Ltd has just debuted a new Automatic Numberplate Recognition (ANPR) add-on for its commercial vehicle wash units, a long-requested feature aimed at making fleet cleaning more efficient and accountable.

The Horsham-based company designs and builds drive-through, under-chassis, and internal trailer wash systems, primarily for the public transport and logistics sector.

The new ANPR system can be added to existing or future installations and offers several benefits.

It can be set up so that it knows the correct wash programme to use for each vehicle. It also logs each wash, providing a clear record that can help operators meet the growing requirements for cleanliness standards in many contracts and regulatory frameworks.

There are also practical security and safety benefits as the system can be set to restrict access, preventing unauthorised or unsuitable vehicles from using the wash equipment.

Additionally, wash operators can also profit from making the wash available to other operators. A set number of washes per vehicle can be sold, with the ANPR allowing access and allocating the right programme.

Darren Bright, WNV’s sales director said: “Numberplate recognition is something we’ve been asked about for a while and we’re proud to have now implemented this in a way that adds value for our customers. It simplifies and speeds up the process and can even help turn vehicle washes into a profit centre.”
