Liverpool logistics firm dating back to the 1700s returns to profit
A Liverpool-based logistics business, which was established in 1794, has returned to profit after increasing its product mix. Moving forward, the company expects to improve profits further.
Henry Bath provides warehouse services and logistics services for non-ferrous metals, cocoa and coffee.
The company has subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Belgium, Singapore, China and the USA.
Newly filed results have revealed that in the year ended 31 December 2024, turnover reduced slightly from $45.8m to $39.6m.
However, the company returned to a pre-tax profit of $73,000, up from a loss of $4.9m.
In a report with the results, the business said this is “directly related to the increase in stock holding and the product mix”.
The report added: “The results display a more favourable financial performance in 2024 compared to 2023.
“Although there has been an overall decrease revenue, we have seen an increase in operating margin due to a reduction in lease costs and an increase in stocks and rental income.”
During the year, there was an increase in cash of $2.3m this is due to a loan of $4.2m provided by the parent companies prior to the year end.
Moving forward, the company said that its managers will “continue to seek new locations and opportunities in 2025”.
It added: “The directors are of the opinion that the group and the company result will improve with a profitable result forecast for 2025.”
