A Darlington logistics and industrial scheme including more than 400,000 sq ft of space has officially reached completion.

Greenbox Darlington comprises three units, ranging from 84,950 sq ft to 215,360 sq ft. The bases were designed to achieve Net Zero Carbon in Construction and Operation alongside an EPC ‘A’ and BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

The scheme was brought forward by Greenbox – a joint venture platform built by Partners Group – acting on behalf of its clients in conjunction with Citivale. Winvic Construction worked on the development.

It is strategically positioned within close proximity to both the A66, and the key arterial A1(M) route and is being marketed by Savills and HTA Real Estate.

James Appleton-Metcalfe, chief executive at Citivale, said: “We are delighted to have celebrated the official completion of Greenbox Darlington alongside our partners and important local stakeholders. Greenbox Darlington embodies our commitment to delivering sustainable, Grade A logistics space that meets the evolving needs of modern businesses. By targeting Net Zero Carbon in Construction and Operation, we have not only reduced emissions but also empowered our prospective occupiers to operate more sustainably from day one.”

Councillor Stephen Harker, leader of Darlington Council stated, added: “Darlington is quickly establishing itself as a great place to live, work or do business. The state-of-the-art facilities available at Greenbox are setting new benchmarks for sustainability in the logistics industry which will help to attract further investment to the town and will create more high-quality jobs for local people – strengthening our local economy as well as supporting our ambition to be carbon neutral by 2040.”

Danny Nelson, managing director – industrial, distribution and logistics at Winvic, said: “Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Winvic, and partnering with Greenbox has provided a fantastic opportunity to drive innovation in sustainable industrial development. We are immensely proud to have played a key role in delivering this

Net Zero Carbon development, ensuring sustainability was embedded at every stage through active collaboration with our Green Supply Chain partners.”
