ID Logistics signs up for Panattoni Park Sittingbourne
Logistics firm will join DPD at Kemsley site
The “biggest single property deal in the South East” has been penned for a major logistics site near Sittingbourne.
ID Logistics has signed a deal – its third warehouse facility in the UK – at Panattoni Park in Kemsley.
The 440,000 ft-sq warehouse will support the operations for a major, unnamed, e-commerce customer of ID Logistics.
Fit-out of the site is already underway, with the facility set to be completed by May.
Delivery giant DPD has already taken up a presence at a previously completed unit on the site.
Alex Mitchell, associate development director for South East and London at Panattoni UK, said: “Securing ID Logistics and DPD sends out a very positive message not only about the quality of the developments we deliver but also about Kent as a location for logistics and development businesses.
“There remains significant demand for large, high-quality space across the South East that’s ready for occupation. Commercial demand for our parks at Aylesford and Sittingbourne has been strong.”
Such has been the demand, it has also recently acquired a vacant 70-acre brownfield site at Lenham, near Maidstone.
ID Logistics’ UK managing director, Stuart Evans, said: “This new contract and the launch of our Sittingbourne site underline the company’s long-term commitment to the UK and our confidence in its continued potential.
“It will enable us to support our customer’s growth while also creating new employment opportunities.”
When fully occupied, Panattoni Park Sittingbourne is expected to offer the prospect of 1,069 new jobs for the area.
