ChargePoint launches 2026 Charging Forward Report
ChargePoint has published its 2026 Charging Forward Report, which covers the trends and emerging technologies that are shaping the future of EV charging, including the electrification of commercial vehicles and next generation charging capabilities.
The report dissects the current state of the EV market, analysing current EV adoption, both in Europe and globally.
It also explores the latest developments in charging, examining how emerging technologies are being futureproofed through the combination of hardware, software and reliability, and how ChargePoint is driving this progress through its latest solutions and its collaboration with Eaton.
The report states: ‘By 2040, around two-thirds of commercial trucks and vans will be electric. While many will be medium and light duty vehicles, some will be heavy duty requiring megawatt charging’; and ‘For fleet operators and infrastructure investors, this represents one of the most capital intensive and time sensitive build out opportunities in the sector’.
