CitySprint powers seamless logistics at the London to Brighton Bike Ride

CitySprint has supported one of the UK’s most iconic cycling events, the London to Brighton Bike Ride, delivering a smooth, end to end logistics operation for thousands of riders travelling from Clapham Common to Brighton Seafront. With scale, precision and customer experience at the core, its teams coordinated four key services that allowed participants to focus entirely on the ride while we handled everything behind the scenes.

• At the centre of the operation was the company’s comprehensive bike transport service, designed to support riders before and after their journey.
• Supported by 44 articulated trailers and a dedicated loading and unloading team, the service ran in two carefully managed phases:
• Morning (3.45 am to 6.30am): Transporting local Brighton riders and preparing for the day ahead.
• Afternoon and Evening (11.45 am to 8 pm): Returning London based participants and their bikes back to Clapham Common

Throughout the day, the delivery teams ensured every bike was handled with care using protective blankets for safe transit while closely monitoring volumes to maintain efficiency. By working in sync with the on-site coach supplier, all departures operated in convoy, ensuring riders and their bikes always travelled together for a stress-free experience.

To further enhance the rider experience, CitySprint delivered an additional midway bike transport service, ensuring flexibility across the route.

This operation utilised five articulated trailers and two 18 tonne vehicles.

CitySprint also managed the event’s baggage transport service, giving riders the freedom to travel light and focus on the challenge ahead.

Two 18 tonne vehicles were positioned at Clapham Common early in the morning, securely transporting participants’ belongings to Brighton. Upon arrival, bags were safely stored and ready for collection with vehicles remaining on-site until 8 pm to provide a secure, covered storage solution for any uncollected items.

From vehicle scheduling to on the ground execution, every element was carefully managed by CitySprint to ensure smooth operations, timely departures and full adherence to driving regulations.
