My Baggage acquires London-based competitor Sherpr
Major UK travel logistics consolidation – Belfast luggage company has helped 200,000 customers ship items to more than 200 countries.
Belfast-based luggage company My Baggage, one of the UK’s fastest-growing luggage shipping and personal effects logistics companies, has acquired London-based competitor Sherpr in a strategic deal it says strengthens its leadership position in the rapidly expanding international travel-logistics market.
The deal – supported by EY and Millar McCall Wylie and completed for an undisclosed sum – brings seven-figure additional revenue into the My Baggage group and sees nine Sherpr employees join the business.
It also enhances My Baggage’s operational footprint across the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia and France and accelerates its expansion into travel-industry partnerships across rail, aviation and tour operator channels.
My Baggage was originally founded by Paul Stewart as Uni Baggage while he was studying in Edinburgh, inspired by the need for students to transport belongings to and from university.
Later rebranded as My Baggage, it has helped 200,000 customers ship items including luggage, boxes and sports equipment to more than 200 countries.
Mr Stewart said: “Sherpr has built impressive relationships across the UK travel industry, and this acquisition marks an important step in expanding our partnerships line of business into 2026 and beyond.
“Sherpr’s strong foundations complement our growing portfolio which includes My Baggage, NI Parcels, Irish Parcels and now Sherpr which are all focused on simplifying how people move their possessions around the world.”
Founded in 2017, Sherpr has become one of the UK’s most partnership-focused luggage-shipping operators, securing relationships with major travel brands including Eurostar, LNER and South Western Railway.
The company currently delivers excess-baggage transport for Eurostar’s high volume routes between the UK and France, alongside wider luggage services for the UK rail network and tour operators.
Cass Warrick, managing director of Sherpr, said: “Joining the My Baggage Group marks an exciting new chapter for Sherpr. My Baggage is a market-leading operator, and the scale and operational strength of the Group will allow Sherpr to scale faster, more efficiently and with greater international reach.
“There is a clear cultural and strategic fit, and we believe this combination unlocks substantial growth opportunities.”
Global demand for luggage shipping services has surged in recent years, driven by increasing airline baggage costs, capacity pressures and the rise of door-to-door convenience for travellers, students and those relocating.
And the combination of My Baggage’s global network with Sherpr’s strong partnership model is seen as positioning My Baggage for continued growth and success in a market undergoing rapid professionalisation and consolidation.
