Logistics provider expands with two new sites
DX, a logistics provider, has opened two DX-2 Super Sites in Wellingborough, North Northamptonshire and Birstall, West Yorkshire, expanding its depot network.
The Birstall site on Norquest Industrial Estate spans 35,000 sq ft, while the Wellingborough facility on Ise Valley Industrial Estate covers 10,000 sq ft.
These additions bring the total number of DX-2 Super Sites in the UK to nine, supporting the growth of the 2-person delivery division, which handles larger and heavier items directly to customers’ chosen locations, from homes to offices and gardens.
DX-2 operates one of the UK’s largest 2-person home delivery networks, with a Nottingham hub, 19 dedicated depots, and a fleet covering over 100 daily routes, employing more than 450 staff.
The new Super Sites are designed to enhance efficiency, cut stem mileage and carbon emissions, and improve customer service.
Ian Truesdale, chief executive officer of DX Group said: “We are delighted to have opened these additional new DX-2 Super Sites in Birstall and Wellingborough. They will provide our DX-2 operations with greater capacity, further increase capability and get us closer to our customers’ customers. They also help to make us more efficient and reduce our stem mileage, which in turn will lower our overall carbon emissions. We continue to focus on setting market-leading service standards. We have invested significantly in our depot network over the past few years and will continue this programme across the Group, including IT, vehicles and equipment.
