Retailers can now offer consumers more flexibility and choice when it comes to receiving their online purchases, including a same day offering, thanks to a new partnership between Route Genie, the advanced carrier management software and Pass My Parcel, the click and collect parcel shop network. Businesses utilising the Route Genie solution to manage their deliveries can offer customers the option of picking up their parcels at a local Pass My Parcel outlet.
Pass My Parcel offers a unique same day (currently only available within the M25) and next day delivery service via thousands of parcel shops, made up from local convenience stores across the UK, covering 93% of the population. The service, which is owned by Smith News, the UK’s leading newspaper and magazine wholesaler, was launched in 2014 offering a convenient click and collect parcel service for consumers shopping at Amazon and many others. The new agreement, which will see the Pass My Parcel network fully integrated within Route Genie, will allow any retailer using the carrier management software to utilising the parcel shop network as a collection point for their customers.
In some locations, Pass My Parcel uses its own fleet to offer a same day delivery service for consumers that order by 11.45am, with collection available after 8pm. In addition, all orders made before 7.45pm can be collected from 9am the following day, regardless of location.
By integrating with the leading domestic and international industry carriers and delivery solutions, including Pass My Parcel, Route Genie helps retailers to streamline the management of their parcel deliveries, ensuring they can benefit from significant time and cost savings. As well as choosing the carrier for each parcel based on cost and service, the innovative platform consolidates the parcel tracking information, allowing the retailer’s customer service teams to manage customer communications. This includes the capability to send personalised branded messaging to customers throughout the process.
Gary Howden, Sales Director at Pass My Parcel, said: “Pass My Parcel is committed to providing a speedy, efficient and reliable service and our partnership with Route Genie allows us to grow even further. This agreement will also help more retailers to enhance their overall customer experience by providing greater access to a same day delivery solution, as well as next day click and collect via our store network.”
Richard Tucker, Head of Sales, iForce Group and Route Genie, said: “This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity for retailers to offer online shoppers increased choice and convenience when receiving their goods. The integration will increase customer satisfaction whilst also helping retailers to dramatically reduce the number of missed home deliveries, which is frustrating for both the retailer and the customer.”
Route Genie has played an important part of the iForce proposition for many years and continues to underpin iForce Pathfinder, the company’s carrier management solution. Route Genie was launched as a SaaS (Software as a Service) application in 2014 and is also now being sold successfully as a software licensed product.
