Evri, the UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company, has teamed up with Leeds-born, Matt Jameson, known for being on television programme Married at First Sight, to support Evri’s fundraising throughout Pride month in support of Out Together, a local LGBT+ charity, which raises awareness for the LGBT+ community.

The bake sale was full of enthusiastic colleagues who showcased their culinary skills by bringing an array of baked goods to be judged by Matt and other senior members at Evri. During the event, which raised over £1500, Matt also shared the inspiring story behind the charity he established and its mission to promote inclusivity, support LGBT+ individuals and foster a sense of unity within the community.

In addition to the bake sale, Evri’s people will be celebrating Pride month with a number of initiatives including pronoun badges being made available at all sites and other fundraising activities at the Morley head office. Colleagues will also be taking part in Leeds Pride, organised by the company’s newly formed LGBTQ+ colleague-led network.

Evri has also signed up to take part in the Inclusive Employers accreditation to see how the business is tracking against becoming a recognised inclusive employer. To support this the company is launching a DE&I learning series to all colleagues which will cover key topics including allyship, microaggressions, unconscious bias, workplace adjustments and neurodiversity.

Martijn De Lange, Evri CEO said: “Over the past 12 months we have taken action to support our LGBTQ+ colleagues including making changes to our workplace policies, creating a brand-new DE&I strategy, and launching our LGBTQ+ colleague-led network group. We hope to continue building on this base and being led by our colleagues on how make Evri an even better place to work in the future.”
