A Bristol haulage firm celebrating 25 years of trading next year, has invested in its fleet of vehicles as it looks to grow the business over the next 12 months.
Wrings Transport, based in Hallen, has secured a six-figure funding package from Lombard Asset Finance to purchase a limited-edition Mercedes-Benz truck, adding to its 60-strong fleet.
With the addition of the high-spec truck, which is one of only 35 in the UK, the firm will continue to grow its customer base nationally.
Wrings Transport has already had one of its most successful years to date, increasing turnover from £6.9m in 2018 to £7.5m this year alone. This growth comes as the haulage firm sets to mark its 25th anniversary in 2020.
Wrings Transport is a family-run business with roots in Bristol for nearly a century. It was first set up in 1927 by Sidney Joseph Wring, who delivered coal to hospitals and schools across Bristol with a horse and cart.
The company closed down in the late 60’s after Sidney passed away. But in 1995, Sidney’s grandson Stuart Wring set up Wrings Transport in its current form.
Stuart, managing director of Wrings Transport, said: “We’ve just had our best year in terms of turnover and profit, and next year is looking even better still.
“Our 25th anniversary couldn’t have come at a better time, and it’s great that Lombard Asset Finance has helped us mark the occasion with a state-of-the-art, limited-edition truck. We’ve added a silver emblem on the side door and a plaque on the front grill to commemorate this special anniversary.”
The deal was managed by senior relationship manager Ed Willis from Lombard Asset Finance.
Ed commented: “It’s been a pleasure supporting a family-run business like Wrings Transport. The company has an impressive track record of generating year-on-year sustainable growth, a credit to Stuart and the team. I am sure they will all enjoy celebrating their 25th anniversary and I wish Wrings the very best for the future.”
